I am delighted to exhibit my recent paintings at Labiaga ikastola in Bera, Navarre, alongside the Pyramid of Chairs, an exercise in participatory art designed to give new life to old chairs.
Launched several years ago in collaboration with Basque-language schools in Lower Navarre. where I live, the children of Labiaga ikastola joined the project in March. Here they are, working on the pavement beside their school in the main street of Bera!
The exhibition is on until June 2 2024. Later this year, the chairs will be relocated in different parts of the town as symbols as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of their school’s foundation.
