Collages

The early 2000s were a time of protest and social dissent in the Basque Country, and this was reflected in the posters that covered walls and hoardings in the towns and villages, interspersed with announcements of local festivities, pelota championships and cultural events.

Scraps of these posters torn off the walls served me as the raw material for a series of visual statements using collage to communicate the tensions and the forces of social solidarity that characterised the Basque Country during these years.
