Over the years, I have moved away from identifiable subjects towards a form of expressionist abstraction. Today, there is no “subject” in my paintings. It is the colours and the texture of the painting that form the subject. I express myself through colour, rather than with words. I love to mix the pigments, to grapple with the canvas, cardboard and other materials that I use. When I am painting, I am happy.
