“I didn’t see it coming” I exhibited this painting the 2023 edition of Artea Oinez

This is the painting that I exhibited (and sold) in this year’s edition of Artea Oinez, the annual fund-raising art exhibition organized on behalf of Basque-language schools in Navarre

Painted with pigments on paper in 2020, and measuring 110 x 110 cm, it’s an explosion of fire and light. I have given it the title “I didn’t see it coming”.

What could “it” be? An emotional crisis? A car crash? A flash of inspiration?

Any or none of those things: it’s what you feel when you see it that is important.
